After numerous phone calls, faxes, and emails from the White House and the Buckingham Palace, we’ve finally come about to support the “imperial system” or the “American system”, whichever term you prefer. You can now choose to use the metric system (km-m-kg-Celsius) or the American system (mi-ft-lb-Fahrenheit) in your HeiaHeia entries! You can switch the system used from the settings.

If you switch your units, all your old entries will be shown according to your current setting.

You’ll see your friends’ entries in the system their where made in (to give some cross-cultural flavour), but all the summaries etc will be made based on your own measurement units.

Anything missing or not working the way you’d want to? Please let us know!

For the lucky ones who don’t speak in three letter acronyms: this means that you can track your outdoor activities with a GPS device & if your tracking app supports HeiaHeia as a destination site, you can automatically push your activities also to HeiaHeia and have nice route thumbnails in your feed to complement your other sporty activities.

The first app supporting this is our friend eCoach, available for the Nokia N900. The feature will be supported in the next eCoach release, due in a couple of weeks.

Hejsan alla!

Things don’t get much more Nordic than this: a start-up from Finland with a Norwegian name launches support for the Swedish language! Just click the flag icon on the top right corner & switch to Swedish in order to hurra på dina vänner! Huge thanks for our friend Daniel for helping us out with the localization.

As with any of our supported languages (so far English, Finnish, Russian, Swedish – Norwegian, Italian and German in the pipeline), please let us know, if you have a better wording for something, if you discover typos, or anything else you’d like to change.

If you have talent and interest for localizing stuff and would like to help us out with your mother tongue, please contact us! We can offer you e.g. a special status in our service and some pretty cool cheering icons! ; )

When training for an event, people often follow a program (some more strictly, some less strictly ; ). You can now input your program as a training plan in HeiaHeia.

How to use it: make new entries the usual way, but for the future. When these planned events “take place”, you’ll be asked if you want to approve the exercise as planned, if you want to edit & approve it, or if you want to delete it (=it didn’t take place). The approved exercises go into your training diary, the planned entries are kept for a planned vs. actual presentation (we don’t have this yet, but are working on it).

The planned entries are visually represented as gray icons e.g. in the timeline.

Comments & ideas very much welcome, as usual!
