Product launch: Corporate wellbeing version of HeiaHeia.com

We’re excited to tell you that we have just launched the corporate wellbeing version of HeiaHeia! The idea in short is that the current HeiaHeia is a “me” view – showing your own activities and your personal friends’ activities. The corporate version is a “we” view – showing an organization’s common targets and members (colleagues) in that organization, as well as supporting e.g. a company’s hobby clubs. You can navigate between the “me” and “we” views with one click, the same training log is utilized in both views. Your privacy settings are naturally applied in both views.

The corporate version is a commercial product, which we license with a “Software as a Service” model, i.e. we run a corporate branded service for customer companies. This way, the customer companies get to enjoy a cutting edge web service and all its updates with minimal hassle and maximal cost efficiency.

We’ve tested the concept with four companies from different industries (environmental consulting, IT, retail/logistics, public sector). The key findings from these pilots were that our casual wellbeing approach does appeal to people with different activity levels, and that an atmosphere of positive cheering works also in corporate environments (the aggregate statistics showed great community achievements). In an example company, 90% of activated users actually log their activities, contribute to common goals, and cheer each other. The amount of physical activity per week per person has clearly grown during our pilot period. The top “sports” in this company are very casual – i.e. HeiaHeia has encouraged people to do more everyday activities like walking to work. As always, “everything counts” – we think all physical activity is good and worth cheering!

The launch of the corporate version has no impact on the users of the consumer version of HeiaHeia.com – we’ll continue developing it further as we’ve done so far and it continues to be a free of charge service for the users.

For more information on the corporate version, please contact us at corporate@heiaheia.com

Calling for ideas for the weight log

Yesterday’s release was a success: we broke our daily records in new users, server load and exercises logged during yesterday! We’re still settling login issues for some of you, but please be patient here, everybody should be up & running soon.

The most popular feedback topic after yesterday’s release was the weight log. Thanks for all the comments! The overall sentiment was that the new implementation is not good enough as it is – so let’s make it better!

We wanted to achieve three things with the weight log update: 1) to remove the actual weight figure from the home page (popular request – having the figure there prevented people from sharing their screen) 2) to make the log accessible & editable without having to make an entry 3) to create a clear visual style we can start building on. The current graph is quite minimalistic and the labeling doesn’t support all use cases, but it’s straight-forward now to develop the weight log further, to do more and richer things with your weight data.

So please send us any ideas or comments you might have on the weight log to help us make it rock!

New Year – All New HeiaHeia.com!

Santa came a bit late this year – our Xmas release turned into a New Year’s release. But we very much believe it was worth waiting…

As a sign of the maturing of our service, we’ve dropped the word “Beta” from our name. Here are the key highlights of this release:

- New refreshed look
- New entry types: free form notes, sick days, whole new weight log
- New activity meter showing more: your trainings, your #1 sport, your cheers, your sick days & your mood
- New “Stats” tab for following your longer term progress
- A lot of little tweaks here and there: e.g. a cool search field in the “All sports” window

Check out these video tutorials on our new features:

HeiaHeia walkthrough I 030111

HeiaHeia walkthrough II 030111

Next steps: We’re pushing out new sport types (sorry for the long waiting time on these!) and some wintery cheers soon.

All comments & bug reports on the new features are very much welcome! For example the Stats tab is not a “final version” by any means, we’ll keep on developing it further and your feedback will be crucial in making it both useful and fun.

Heia 2011!

Facebook sharing bug – here’s how to fix it

We have a bug in HeiaHeia’s Facebook app related to sharing exercises from HeiaHeia to Facebook. The most common root cause seems to be changing your FB password, which disables sharing.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to fix this properly right now, as we want to concentrate on getting our Xmas release out first.

BUT: if your are affected, there are two things you can do: 1) For the DIY folks: remove and reinstall our FB app 2) For the rest: we can fix the problem manually for you. Just send us an email at heia(at)heiaheia.com (ideally from the feedback box inside HeiaHeia), and we’ll fix it for you.

Thanks for your patience with this!

EDIT: If nothing else helps – go to http://apps.facebook.com/heiaheia and check that it is a) installed b) all permissions are granted.

Christmas release coming

A little sneak peek from our labs: we’re developing a “Christmas release” to celebrate HeiaHeia’s 1st anniversary in December. This release will be our biggest individual release since launch, including lots of user requests and some visual refreshes also. And a couple of little surprises in the spirit of Xmas. ; )

Heia Italia!

HeiaHeia.com – Probabilmente il modo più divertente per tenersi in forma!

In other words, we’ve just launched support for the Italian language! If you spot any problems with the translation, please let us know. Big thanks to Anna for helping us out with this! The next new language should be Estonian – if you’d like to help us with some other language, don’t hesitate to contact us.

As always, feedback, comments and wishes on anything else coming to mind are very much welcome! Our current development focus: a couple of exciting new features as well as a batch of new sports.
